Hazardous Materials: Operations LevelDescription:This course will cover all objectives from NFPA 472 Competencies for the First Responder at the Operational Level. The student will be able to recognize that hazardous materials are present, how to protect themselves, how to determine what hazardous materials are present, how to protect the public, how to set up and perform decontamination and how to determine evacuation zones. The student will also learn how to perform defensive protective actions and decontamination procedures. The student will learn how to determine target hazards and possible hazardous materials present in various facilites & transport containers. The student must have hazardous materials: awareness level training prior to operational level training.
