Basic Firefighter Skills Refresher Course - ADescription:Course allows the student to refresh their skill knowledge by applying "Hands-On" training. Skills included in this course are taught and performed to the same standard as those currently used in the Certified Volunteer Firefighter Level I and NFPA 1001 courses. Subjects include: donning & doffing personal protective equipment, limitation of PPE, self contained breathing apparatus donning, doffing, emergency use, search & rescue, ladder operations, hose operations & hose lays/loads. This is an excellent course for new firefighters to learn these important skills and for veteran firefighters to get refresher training on skills they may not perform everyday. The course has 4 hours in the classroom and with 8 hours of the course spent "in the field" with hands on skills.
